Wisconsin Life and Lynda Barry at the Wisconsin Book Festival
Wisconsin Life will have its official launch at the 2011 Wisconsin Book Festival in Madison, October 19-23. Join us Friday, October 21st at Overture Hall for a multimedia event hosted by Wisconsin Life commentator Lynda Barry and friends.
Then on Saturday and Sunday morning, learn how to tell your own story (and be considered for a Wisconsin Life piece) with Lynda Barry’s tried-and-true method of storytelling in her “Writing the Unthinkable” workshop. It’s an approach to writing stories that is easy to teach, and based on spontaneous memory, the kind that happens when we smell a certain smell or hear a certain song.You will need a lot of paper and your favorite pens or pencils and most importantly you will need to be right on time. Participants will have the opportunity to have their stories considered for recording on Wisconsin Life. Registration is required.
