An international panel of judges evaluates 2,500 entries in 82 cheese and butter classes.
Judges work in teams of two, tasting products from around the world to determine gold medalists in each variety.

It’s time for Wisconsin Life. It’s been an intense three days of cheese tasting for judges at the World Championship Cheese Contest. The event — held in Madison this year — attracted more than 25-hundred entries from 30 states and 24 countries. And, an international team of judges.
The event wraps up tonight in Madison with a final round of judging before a live audience.
